Your Data and GDPR Compliance 

We take your privacy seriously and are committed to handling your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Here is how we ensure your data is protected: 

  1. Purpose 
    We collect your personal data solely for the purpose of managing and evaluating nominations for The Food Planet Prize. For nominators, this means collecting your name and email address to contact you with potential questions about your nomination. For nominees and other parties, this means collecting your name, email address, and potentially other contact information such as phone number, to stay in contact throughout the evaluation process.  
  1. Data collection 
    We collect your data when you fill in contact details in our nominations form. We might also receive your data when you are nominated for the Food Planet Prize by someone else. When you contact us directly via e-mail we can save the e-mail to be able to contact you again in the future. 
  1. Retention 
    We save your data for up to 10 years to follow the development of nominated initiatives. After this time the data will be securely deleted. 
  1. Storage and Security 
    Your data is securely stored in a cloud service that complies with GDPR standards. We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures, such as encryption and access controls, to protect your data from unauthorized access or breaches. Our cloud service provider is located in Northern Europe. We have appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the EU Commission, in place to protect your data during transfer. 
  1. Data Sharing 
    We do not share your personal data with any third parties without your explicit consent, unless required by law. 
  1. Your Rights 
    You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can also withdraw your consent to our processing of your data, or request transfer of your data to another system or directly to you. To exercise these rights, please contact us at info@foodplanetprize.org. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection.
